Douglas Edward Reeman (15 October 1924 – 23 January 2017) was a British novelist best known for his naval historical fiction, written under his own name and the pseudonym Alexander Kent. A Royal Navy veteran, Reeman wrote extensively about naval warfare and seafaring life, creating the popular Richard Bolitho series and numerous World War II novels. His books sold tens of millions of copies worldwide.
