Margret Rey

Margret Elizabeth Rey (born Margarete Elisabeth Waldstein) was a German-born American writer and illustrator best known, with her husband H.A. Rey, for creating the Curious George series of children's picture books. She studied art at the Bauhaus and other German institutions before emigrating to Brazil and then the United States. Alongside H.A. Rey she produced the original Curious George books from 1939 into the 1960s and later collaborated with others to expand the franchise into additional books and media.
