Anna Dewdney was an American author and illustrator of children's books, best known for the Llama Llama series. Before becoming an author, she worked as a rural mail carrier and taught at a boys' boarding school. She was an advocate for literacy and believed reading to children fosters empathy and kindness. Her books have been adapted into stage plays, musicals, and an animated television series for Netflix. Dewdney passed away in 2016 after a battle with brain cancer.
