Margery Williams Bianco

Margery Williams Bianco (1881–1944) was an English-American author best known for her classic children's book, The Velveteen Rabbit (1922). Born in London, she moved to the United States as a child, later living in various European countries before returning to the U.S. in 1921. Her career spanned adult novels, young adult fiction, and numerous celebrated children's works, often characterized by themes of love, loss, and the power of imagination.
