Fox Evil

When elderly Ailsa Lockyer-Fox is found dead in her garden, dressed only in night clothes, suspicion immediately falls on her wealthy, landowning husband, Colonel James Lockyer-Fox. Although a coroner's inquest delivers a verdict of 'natural causes,' the relentless gossip in the isolated Dorset village of Shenstead refuses to subside, suggesting James is guilty. The village, characterized by too few people and too many secrets, is home to a dysfunctional family history where James and Ailsa have cut their children out of their wills, and James is now desperate to find his illegitimate grandchild. James's London-based solicitor, Mark Ankerton, grows increasingly concerned when James becomes the victim of a vicious campaign of allegations, which he inexplicably refuses to challenge, while a group of New Age travelers arrives, led by a charismatic man named 'Fox Evil,' further complicating the embattled community.
