Minette Caroline Mary Walters DL (born 26 September 1949) is an English novelist best known for psychological crime and suspense novels. Her debut, The Ice House (1992), won the CWA John Creasey Award; her early books won major awards including the Edgar Award and the CWA Gold Dagger. Walters's work frequently explores isolation, family dysfunction, justice and revenge. She has written novels, novellas and short stories, several of which were adapted for television. She lives in Dorset, England, and was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Dorset in 2019.
