The story is a military thriller that follows SAS trooper Mark Black. The novel is set across two timelines, beginning in 1982 during the Falklands War, where a young Black is part of a daring mission to capture an Argentine female spy and knock out enemy bombers at a fortified airbase on Tierra del Fuego. Twenty years later, a new Argentine military junta has returned to power, determined to re-invade the Falkland Islands. British air defences are knocked out by a sneak attack, and Argentine forces are being secretly readied for an assault. Now a senior NCO, Black returns to the South Atlantic, haunted by the past. Inserted by submarine with a team from the crack SAS Mountain Troop, he is faced with a conflict of loyalties when fate throws him together with the girl from his past. The mission is to destroy the enemy bombers and prevent an all-out war, but the team suspects the mission may have been compromised from the start.
