Camino Island: A Novel

A gang of thieves stages a daring heist from a secure vault deep below Princeton University’s Firestone Library, stealing five priceless original manuscripts by F. Scott Fitzgerald. While the FBI and an underground agency of investigators hunt for the perpetrators, the trail leads to the sleepy resort town of Santa Rosa on Camino Island, Florida. There, Bruce Cable, a prominent rare book dealer and owner of Bay Books, is suspected of dabbling in the black market of stolen literary treasures. Mercer Mann, a young novelist struggling with writer's block and financial debt, is recruited by a mysterious company working for Princeton's insurance carrier to go undercover. Her mission is to infiltrate Cable’s circle of literary friends and discover the truth about the missing manuscripts, but she soon finds herself entangled in a dangerous game where the line between fiction and reality blurs.
