Anne Tyler (born October 25, 1941) is an American novelist and short story writer known for her finely observed portraits of ordinary people and family life. Her novels often explore family dynamics, domestic life, and the quiet dramas of everyday existence. She has published more than twenty novels, including Breathing Lessons (which won the 1989 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction), The Accidental Tourist, and Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant.
