Kathleen Winsor

Kathleen Winsor (1919–2003) was an American author best known for her 1944 debut historical novel, Forever Amber. The book became a massive bestseller despite being banned in several U.S. states for its depictions of sexuality and is often credited as a foundational work of the modern historical romance genre. She wrote seven subsequent novels, though none achieved the same level of commercial success as her debut.
