Elwyn Brooks White (1899–1985) was a celebrated American writer, essayist, and contributing editor for The New Yorker magazine. He is widely recognized for his classic children's books, including Stuart Little, Charlotte's Web, and The Trumpet of the Swan, as well as for co-authoring the influential style guide The Elements of Style.
