Indra Sinha

Indra Sinha (born 1950 in Colaba, Mumbai) is a British writer of Indian and English descent. Formerly an award-winning advertising copywriter, he left advertising in 1995 to write full time. His best-known novel, Animal's People (2007), was shortlisted for the 2007 Man Booker Prize and won the 2008 Commonwealth Writers' Prize (Europe & South Asia). Sinha has written novels, translations of Sanskrit texts, and non-fiction including The Cybergypsies; he has been active in advocacy related to the Bhopal disaster and has written for major outlets including The Guardian.
