Kiran Desai (born 1971) is an Indian novelist, best known for her novels Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard (1998) and The Inheritance of Loss (2006). Daughter of writer Anita Desai, she studied creative writing in the United States and has received international recognition, including the 2006 Man Booker Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award.
