Margaret Atwood

Margaret Eleanor Atwood (born November 18, 1939) is a Canadian poet, novelist, literary critic and environmental activist. Since the 1960s she has published widely across genres—poetry, novels, short fiction and nonfiction—and is best known for works such as The Handmaid's Tale, The Blind Assassin, Oryx and Crake and Alias Grace. Her writing often explores gender, power, identity, myth and environmental themes.
