Margaret Atwood

Margaret Eleanor Atwood is a Canadian novelist, poet, literary critic, and inventor. She is known for her prolific writing career, which began in 1961, and has produced 18 books of poetry, 18 novels, 11 books of nonfiction, nine collections of short fiction, eight children's books, and two graphic novels. Her most famous work is the 1985 dystopian novel 'The Handmaid's Tale.' Atwood's writing often explores themes of gender, Canadian identity, religion, myth, language, climate change, genetic engineering, and power politics. She has received numerous awards and honors for her work, including two Booker Prizes.
