Theodore Taylor

Theodore Langhans Taylor (June 23, 1921 – October 26, 2006) was an American author of more than 50 books for adults and young readers. He is best known for the young-adult novel The Cay (1969). Taylor worked as a journalist, a Navy serviceman during World War II, and a Hollywood publicist before turning to fiction and non-fiction writing. His work spans survival stories, historical fiction, and social themes, and includes The Weirdo, Timothy of the Cay, The Bomb, and The Maldonado Miracle.
