The Son

Sonny Lofthus is a model prisoner and heroin addict in an Oslo prison, serving time for crimes he didn't commit in exchange for an uninterrupted supply of drugs. He acts as a kind of father-confessor to other inmates, a role facilitated by a corrupt system including prison staff and police, all of whom are focused on keeping him incarcerated and high. Years earlier, Sonny's father, a respected police officer, supposedly committed suicide after being exposed as a police mole. When a dying prisoner reveals a shocking truth, Sonny learns that his father was actually murdered, and the suicide was faked. This discovery prompts him to engineer a brilliant escape from the maximum-security prison and begin a determined quest for vengeance, hunting down everyone responsible for his father's death and his own fate amid Oslo's brutal hierarchy of corruption.
