The Man from Beijing

One cold January day, the police are called to a remote hamlet in northern Sweden where they discover a crime unprecedented in Swedish history: a massacre of nineteen people. When Judge Birgitta Roslin reads about the killings, she realizes she has a family connection to one of the couples involved and decides to investigate, driven by a nineteenth-century diary and a red silk ribbon found near the scene.
