Luke Garner, an illegal third child who spent the first twelve years of his life in hiding, has been living for four months under the false identity of Lee Grant, the deceased son of a wealthy Baron family, at the Hendricks School for Boys. Just as he begins to adjust to his new life, Lee's younger brother, Smits, arrives at the school, accompanied by his menacing bodyguard, Oscar.
