Searching for Sky

Sky and River have always lived on an isolated 'Island,' where their life is simple and safe, hunting for food and knowing only each other. Their quiet existence ends when River spots a boat and they are 'rescued' and taken across the 'Ocean' to a place called California. In this new and bewildering world, Sky is separated from River and forced to live with a grandmother she has just met. California's rules are different, its people rely on strange things like cars and cell phones, and without River, nothing makes sense to Sky. Sky desperately searches for River so they can return to their Island paradise, only to discover that their former home was not as perfect as she thought, and everything she has ever known may have been a lie, beginning her true search for the truth in the hostile world—ours.
