秋の風

Titled in English as "The Autumn Wind: A Selection from the Poems of Issa," this book is an extensive, annotated anthology of haiku by Kobayashi Issa (1762–1826), one of Japan's four great haiku masters. The collection features a selection of his best work, often noted for its earthy, vigorous, funny, and irreverent style with a characteristic down-to-earth humor and wit. The poems are presented in both English translation and romanized Japanese, along with the original Japanese texts of the haiku transcribed at the end of the book. The volume also includes a critical introduction and a brief biography of Issa's life and art.
