The Glasswrights' Journeyman

Eighteen-year-old Rani Trader is trapped after her city, Morenia, is ravaged by fire and plague. Her king, King Hal, has rejected her aid and is forcing her to broker his marriage to the wealthy princess of Liantine in order to negotiate for power and funds, possibly from the shadowy Fellowship of Jair. Liantine is a distant land with strange powers, controlled by the prosperous spiderguild and its seductive apprentice, Mareka, who hold a monopoly on the valuable silk trade. A mysterious troupe of traveling players who gather secrets also harbors the glassmaking secrets Rani desperately craves to rebuild her lost glasswrights' guild. Rani must find a way to balance her loyalty to her king, the pull of her heart, and her desperate desire to resurrect her guild.
