To Light a Candle The Obsidian Trilogy, Book Two

As the Demon Queen attacks, the struggle between Light and Dark continues. Young Kellen, once the disappointing son of the City's great Mage, has now become a powerful Knight-Mage, valued for his bravery and skills as both wizard and warrior, and he joins the Elves' war councils. However, he is unable to convince the human City of his birth that it is in grave danger. Jermayan, after learning much fighting alongside Kellen and loving Idalia, is transformed when he bonds with a dragon while rescuing the Elf Prince, becoming the first Elven Mage in a thousand years. Furious at her enemies' success with the dragon, the Demon Queen attacks in force, sending her agents to sow distraction and death among the human and elven forces. Light struggles against the Dark, like flickering candle flames buried deep in the shadow of Obsidian Mountain.
