The Elfstones of Shannara

The ancient tree called the Ellcrys, which maintains the magical boundary known as the Forbidding that keeps the Demon hordes locked away, is dying. With the Ellcrys's failure, a massive Demon invasion begins to spill into the world of the Four Lands, led by the fearsome Reaper. Wil Ohmsford, grandson of Shea Ohmsford and the reluctant inheritor of the powerful Shannara Elfstones, is called upon by the Druid Allanon. Wil must guard the Elven Princess Amberle Elessedil, the last of the Chosen, on a perilous quest to a mystical place called Safehold to gather a new seed for a new Ellcrys and secure the world's survival. The Elven army attempts to hold back the Demon advance to buy Wil and Amberle enough time to complete their life-or-death mission.
