A Year and a Day

In the heat of the Scottish Highlands, Lynx de Warenne, the 'Wild Lynx' and a fierce loyalist to King Edward I, is tasked with securing the borders. To claim her inheritance and protect her home, the spirited Jane Beaufort agrees to a 'handfasting'—a traditional marriage contract that lasts for a year and a day. The arrangement stipulates that if Jane produces an heir within that time, the marriage becomes permanent; if not, they can both walk away. What begins as a cold contract of convenience quickly ignites into a tempestuous passion as the two navigate the dangers of war, court intrigue, and their own stubborn hearts. Jane and Lynx must decide if their temporary union is merely a duty or a love meant to last a lifetime.
