Virginia Henley

Virginia Syddall Henley (born 5 December 1935) is a British-Canadian author best known for her historical-romance novels set in medieval and Renaissance periods. She sold her first novel, The Irish Gypsy, in 1982 and has since written numerous novels, including works in her Plantagenet trilogy. Henley's novels emphasize historical detail alongside romantic storytelling. She has lived in Canada for many years and is reported to be retired.
