Misty of Chincoteague

On the islands of Chincoteague and Assateague off the coast of Virginia, a centuries-old band of wild ponies roams free. Among them is the Phantom, a mysterious and elusive mare that has outrun every capture attempt for years. Siblings Paul and Maureen Beebe are determined to own and tame her, working tirelessly to save enough money for the annual Pony Penning Day auction. During the frenzied roundup, Paul manages the impossible by capturing the Phantom, only to discover she has a beautiful newborn foal by her side. Named Misty, the gentle colt becomes the heart of the children's world as they face the challenge of keeping both horses together while navigating the boundaries between the wild and the domestic.
