Night of the Wolf

Set during Julius Caesar's conquest of Gaul, 'Night of the Wolf' is a historical fantasy novel and a prequel to 'The Silver Wolf'. The narrative centers on Maeniel, a gray wolf who possesses the ability to shapeshift into human form. Initially dominated by instinct, Maeniel's encounter with the proud Gallic woman Imona awakens unfamiliar emotions and desires, triggering his transformation and teaching him the meaning of love. When Imona vanishes after a Roman massacre, Maeniel pursues her trail as both wolf and man. He is also hunted by Dryas, a warrior queen without a kingdom, sworn to kill him. Their intertwined journey leads them toward Rome, probing their shared experiences and inner conflicts, amid the destruction of Gallic tribal societies and druidic power.
