The Night Manager

Jonathan Pine, a former British soldier, is the night manager at a luxury hotel in Cairo (or Zurich, in different accounts). His life changes dramatically when he encounters Sophie Alekan, who provides him with confidential documents related to the illegal arms dealings of the ruthless international businessman, Richard Onslow Roper. When Sophie is murdered after Pine passes the information to a contact in British Intelligence, Pine is driven by a desire for justice and revenge. He is recruited by Leonard Burr, who heads a small intelligence unit, to infiltrate Roper's inner circle. Pine must adopt a new identity to enter a treacherous, claustrophobic world of double agents, government corruption, and the brutal global arms trade, where the lines between business and crime are fatally blurred and no one can be trusted.
