Strange Affair

When Alan Banks receives a disturbing telephone call from his estranged brother, Roy, he abandons the peaceful Yorkshire Dales for London to search for him, only to find Roy has vanished into thin air. Meanwhile, DI Annie Cabbot is called to a murder scene just outside Eastvale, where a young woman, Jennifer Clewes, is found dead in her car. A slip of paper with Banks's name and address is discovered in the victim's pocket. Living in his brother's empty South Kensington flat, Banks begins digging into the life of the brother he never really knew, uncovering troubling surprises. As Banks's investigation in London and Cabbot's murder case in Yorkshire progress, the two trails begin to intersect, leading to frightening and terrifying conclusions for both detectives.
