Gregory Maguire

Gregory Maguire (born June 9, 1954) is an American novelist best known for Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West and the Wicked Years series. He has written both adult novels—often reworkings of classic children's tales—and numerous books for children. Maguire earned a B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany, an M.A. in children's literature from Simmons College, and a Ph.D. in English and American literature from Tufts University. His work has been adapted for the stage and screen and he has been active as an educator and advocate for children's literature.
