Neal Town Stephenson (born October 31, 1959) is an American author known for speculative fiction that blends science, technology, history and philosophy. His novels include Snow Crash, Cryptonomicon, The Diamond Age, Quicksilver (and the Baroque Cycle), Anathem, Reamde, Seveneves and Termination Shock. His work frequently explores cryptography, mathematics, currency, linguistics and the history of science; he has also written nonfiction about technology and served as an advisor to tech and space companies.
