John Saul (born February 25, 1942) is an American novelist best known for suspense and horror fiction. His debut bestseller Suffer the Children (1977) launched a long career of commercially successful thrillers and supernatural novels; many of his books have appeared on the New York Times bestseller list. Saul has written standalone novels and the serial Blackstone Chronicles, and several of his works have been adapted for screen. He divides his time between the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii.
