She was born and raised in Long Beach, California, and attended Boston University, where she earned bachelor's and master's degrees in classical voice. Quinn's novels often focus on women's underrepresented roles in history and have been set in various historical eras, including ancient Rome, the Italian Renaissance, and the 1940s and 1950s during and after World War II. Her works have been translated into multiple languages. She and her husband currently reside in Maryland with their rescue dogs.
