David Morrell (born April 24, 1943) is a Canadian-American novelist best known for First Blood (1972), the novel that introduced Rambo. A former university professor, he has written more than two dozen novels spanning thrillers, historical mysteries, and action-adventure, and has received awards including the Nero and Macavity. He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
