William Tyndale

William Tyndale was an English biblical scholar and linguist who became a leading figure in the Protestant Reformation. He translated much of the Bible into English, drawing directly from Hebrew and Greek texts, and his work significantly influenced later English translations, including the King James Version. Tyndale's translations were the first to take advantage of the printing press and made Scripture accessible to common people in their own language. He was condemned as a heretic and executed by strangulation and burning in 1536.
