Jerry Hopkins was an American journalist and author, best known for writing the first biographies of Elvis Presley and Jim Morrison of The Doors. He also served for 20 years as a correspondent and contributing editor for Rolling Stone magazine. His work also includes biographies of Jimi Hendrix and David Bowie, as well as books on history, humor, travel, and food. He moved to Thailand in 1993 and divided his time between Bangkok and a house in the countryside.
