He is the author of several books, including "S.T.P.: A Journey Through America with the Rolling Stones," and biographies of notable figures like Bill Graham, Jerry Garcia, and Timothy Leary. He has also written novels, such as "Haymon's Crowd" and "Temple." Greenfield has taught English and literature at various universities, including the University of San Francisco and Chapman University. He lives in California.
