Robert Lee Allen was an American activist, writer, and adjunct professor of African-American Studies and Ethnic Studies. He was known for his work on racial dynamics, civil rights, and Black history. His notable works include 'Black Awakening in Capitalist America: A Historical Analysis' and 'Brotherman: The Odyssey of Black Men in America.' He co-founded the publishing company Wild Trees Press with Alice Walker. Allen received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, San Francisco.
