Elizabeth Moon

Elizabeth Moon (born March 7, 1945) is an American author best known for science fiction and fantasy novels and series including The Deed of Paksenarrion and Vatta's War. A former US Marine Corps officer, she holds degrees in history (Rice University) and biology (University of Texas at Austin). Her novel The Speed of Dark won the Nebula Award for Best Novel. Moon has published dozens of novels and numerous short stories, often featuring strong female protagonists and detailed military/scientific settings. She lives in Texas.
