Ira Progoff
Ira Progoff (1921–1998) was an American psychotherapist, author, and pioneer in depth psychology. He is best known for developing the Intensive Journal Method, a structured journaling technique designed to promote personal growth, creativity, and access to the unconscious mind. Influenced by Carl Jung, with whom he studied in Switzerland, Progoff focused on holistic approaches to individual development and bridged Jungian psychology with practical therapeutic tools. He served as the director of the Institute for Research in Depth Psychology at Drew University and authored numerous books on psychology, spirituality, and journal writing.
