Kay Turner

Kay Turner is an American artist, scholar, musician, and folklorist. She is noted for her feminist writings and performances on subjects such as women's home altars, fairy tale witches, and historical goddess figures. She served as the president of the American Folklore Society (2015-2018) and was the director of the Folk Arts Program at the Brooklyn Arts Council for 14 years. She also co-founded the lesbian feminist punk band 'Girls in the Nose'.
