Duncan Tonatiuh is a Mexican-American author and illustrator of award-winning children's books. Born in Mexico City and raised in San Miguel de Allende, he moved to the United States as a teenager. His work is heavily influenced by Pre-Columbian art, particularly Mixtec codices, and often explores themes related to the Latino experience, including social justice, history, and immigration.
