Hassan Al Kontar

Hassan Al Kontar is a Syrian-born Canadian human rights activist, author, and Canadian Red Cross employee. He gained international attention in 2018 after being stranded for seven months in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, a situation he documented on social media. His memoir, 'Man at the Airport: How Social Media Saved My Life', details his experiences as a refugee and his journey to finding safety and citizenship in Canada.
