Diane Setterfield
Diane Setterfield is a British author best known for her debut novel, The Thirteenth Tale (2006), which became a New York Times No. 1 bestseller and was adapted into a television drama. Before becoming a full-time writer, she had an academic career, specializing in 19th and 20th-century French literature, and earned a PhD from the University of Bristol. Her works are often noted for their Gothic atmosphere, mystery, and elements of folklore.
