Steven Saylor

Steven Saylor is an American author best known for his Roma Sub Rosa historical mystery series, which features the detective Gordianus the Finder and is set in ancient Rome. He studied history and classics at the University of Texas at Austin. Before achieving success with his historical fiction, he wrote gay erotic fiction under the pseudonym Aaron Travis. He has also written epic historical novels about Rome and contemporary suspense novels set in Texas.
