Tan Twan Eng
Tan Twan Eng (born 1972) is a Malaysian novelist writing in English. He published his debut novel The Gift of Rain (2007) and is best known for The Garden of Evening Mists (2012), which won the Man Asian Literary Prize and the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction and was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize. His work often explores memory, history and the legacies of war within Malayan/Malaysian settings.
