Thomas Sowell

Thomas Sowell (born June 30, 1930) is an American economist, social theorist, and author known for his writings on economics, race, and public policy. He has written numerous books aimed at both academic and general audiences, including Basic Economics, The Vision of the Anointed, Black Rednecks and White Liberals, and A Personal Odyssey (his memoir). Sowell studied at Harvard, Columbia, and the University of Chicago, and has been affiliated with the Hoover Institution. He received the National Humanities Medal in 2003 and has been a prominent conservative intellectual and public commentator for decades.
