J. K. Rowling

J.K. Rowling is a British author, philanthropist, producer, and screenwriter, best known for the Harry Potter series, a seven-volume fantasy series about a young wizard that is the best-selling book series in history. She also writes the Cormoran Strike crime fiction series under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Rowling conceived the idea for the Harry Potter series in 1990, and the first book was published in 1997. The series concluded in 2007 and has since sold over 600 million copies worldwide, been translated into 85 languages, and adapted into eight films.
