Agatha Christie was an English crime novelist, playwright, and author, widely regarded as the 'Queen of Mystery' or 'Queen of Crime Fiction.' She is one of the best-selling novelists of all time, with her books selling over two billion copies worldwide and translated into more than 100 languages. Christie is known for her detective novels and short story collections, particularly those featuring Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. She also wrote the world's longest-running play, 'The Mousetrap.' Her writing career began during World War I, where she worked as a nurse and gained knowledge of poisons, which influenced her work. She also wrote romance novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott and was involved in archaeology with her second husband, Max Mallowan.
