Johanna Helen Lindsey (born Johanna Howard; March 10, 1952 – October 27, 2019) was an American writer best known for her bestselling historical romance novels. Beginning with Captive Bride (1977), she published dozens of popular romances spanning Regency sagas, medieval settings, American frontier tales and occasional science-fiction romances. Many of her books reached the New York Times bestseller list and sold tens of millions of copies worldwide.
